Got a price for a front wheel bearing. £19.50 which i though wasn't a bad price. How much of a ball ache are they too fit? Any specialist tools required? What sort of time period to change one. Have garage access.

easy peasey job... takes about 20mins to do... maybe less if u rush...

take the wheel off.. take the brake drum off... undo the big bolt in the middle (pain in the arse to do.. use a socket wrench with the inside of an axel stand to get extra leverage)... pull off the old bearing (might be seized so just yank it off with the nail removal end of a hammer)... slide the new one on... bolt it on... put the drum back on and then the wheel and its done.

Front bearing is a lot harder to do than rear. You need to remove the upright completely i.e disconnect damper, TRE, wishbone, brake caliper and drive shaft. Remember that the centre nut is staked, so tap them out before undoing, you will also need a new hub nut for reassembly. Once the upright is off the car take it to a 20 tonne press and take the old bearing out, fit the new one and refit the upright. IIRC the hub nut is something like 200Nm.

Cheers
