im going off the display on the dash here

i drove manchester-billingham (teesside) around 120 miles

i put £20 of super unleaded in -by accident (n) at 1.50 a lrt

dash read 175miles when i left the petrol station, as i came into teesside i was still reading 130 miles

that's staying under 60mph in a 1.2 active punto

i know its not 100% accurate but i still thought it was quite impressive

so got me thinking whats your best eco drive?

and before anyone asks it took 3 hours without stopping

Probably this one just after i got my 1.3multijet diesel it was over a coupe of hundred miles. i have had it higher but they have been on much shorter journeys without any town driving

75 miles per gallon is just insane.. can't wait to get one of these babys

I onced managed 66 mpg out of my previous Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.6 JTDm. This was at a steady 70 - 80mph from Southampton to Peterborough. I think it eventually got up to 68mpg. Thought this was quite good for the 1.6jtd.

Sounds strange but the more horses an engine has the more economical it is...if you drive it properly! Try driving, keeping safety in mind of course, by imagining there is an egg tied under the accelerator pedal. If you drive it smoothly your mpg will rise amazingly high. Getting a regular 59 mpg out of my 1.9jtd and thats measured not from what the display says. That car is a W plate with 95,000 on the clock. Happy days.
