Technical Whats wrong?

Ok, I broke down, the AA man said it was the Head Gasket.... Then a mechanic said it was the water pump as we are loosing water I have to refil it all the time, so he replaced the pump. I tried the car and it over heated not much water in it.

Could it be the head gasket?

One thing is when I try to start it with the water cap off water shoots up and out. And as I am driving, I put my foot down and it makes a noise kind of like someone putting metal in a blender.

Can someone have a shoot at whats wrong?

the water should not shoot out like that if the cap is off. normallty water loss is a sign of head gasket you can check if the water is brown and gunky or check for mayonaise underthe oil cap. also white smoke from exgaust these are all head gasket signs.

the other possibility if you are luycky is thta you just have an air lock. but i amleaning towards head gasket.

If you got a "juddering" feel to car when you broke down - i had the same problem and it WAS the headgasket.
