A lot of people on the Forum seem to have regrets about cars they've previously owned, which they now -- with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, and a rose-tinted rearview mirror -- regret selling.
So... which car that you once owned are you most sad about parting with...?
To kick things off, although I loved my first car -- a 1967 VW Beetle 1500 -- I wasn't that sad to see it go: even though I'd replaced so much of it, there wasn't actually much left of the car I'd bought. The Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts that followed on were a lot of fun -- especially my Mk1 Mexico (which I only regret because of the prices they now fetch...) -- as was the Isuzu Bighorn 3.1D I sold before getting into FIATs.
You'd think it would be the Supra Turbo (powweerrrrrr...). However, this evening, I suddenly found myself looking at 1990s Audi 100 Avants (estates). I had three of the things in reasonably quick succession (as I used to drive 30-50,000 miles a year); and they were fabulous! In fact, the best drive of my life was a 500-odd mile slog up to the north of Scotland: moving from motorway, to dual carriageway, and ending up on nice, winding country, and then coastal, roads. 2.8 litres of sheer fun; and the best of the lot was a lovely, deep metallic green, like the piccy below (perfect for hiding in a forest of Scots pines...!). And they were the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Oh well....
Why did I sell them? Well, because I'd buy them with a few thousand on the clock, and then get rid around the 120-150,000 mark. Just about run-in by then.
