Technical Whats that droning noise???

Hello all

Just got back from long trip in my cinq sporting and during it I noticed a low droning noise - my girlfriend was sure it was coming from the front left wheel but I thought it was coming from the rear!!

It seemed to get worse from a standing start up to a constant speed and also when decelarating down to a stop.

Is this the wheel bearings or could it be the rear breaks ( only had new pads fitted to front on Fri so prob not them)???

Any pointers would be grateful before I send her in.

can you confirm if it was front or rear? sounds like a wheel bearing to me. rear about £25 (i think) for a new hub. front i'm not so sure.

easy way to check, jack the car up and spin the wheel. then move to the next wheel. you're looking for any grating / grinding feelings or noises

you will find front bearing noise more noticable as it tends to disappear on turns so is noticable when it returns.rears tend to be more constant
