Stu - watch the alloy choice as lower profile rubber will reduce your ride quality and your daily commute is pretty long if IIRC.

Cheers

Liam
Thanks for that, Liam - at this stage, I am going to put the springs on first, then possibly got some alloys afterwards [I am watching a few 17s atm - I would be going from 205/55/16! to 215/45/17s]. My daily commute is a 45 mile trip, so not too bad.

Now, do I need to buy some more memory as well :D

Mmm.........................

when I changed my springs, I noticed no loss in ride comfort quality but a massive leap forward in handling, but, and there is one, when I went from 16s to 17s, although they look prettier the ride becomes quite crashy and you feel every bump in the road, the 16s give you a lot smooother ride as they have a bigger sidewall to absorb some of our crappy road surfaces, so think about it before you do it!

Stu, memory, you can never have enough!

Re: Mmm.........................

Yeah agreed with your there TC, the eibach springs are very very good and are good because they don't lower it too far.

50 profile and below lets you feel every little stone.

Liam

Re: Mmm.........................

I hope they will be good - decided I may stick with the standard shocks for now, and if they have to be changed, then next year and I will bite the bullet then.

Is 30mm the way to drop, btw?

Plus I don't want to go too mad on spending - I am asking Santa for Road Angel this Christmas, just don't tell Paul ;)

you had problems with that athlon?!

im not a fan.. they get a bit HOT..

keep you warm in the winter months tho! lol..

I gave up worrying 2 years ago. Had an athlonxp 1700 in use since 2001 and it ran at 54c idle and 62c maxed out (using UD) it was as stable as a rock, so I basicly stopped worrying about it after 6months of owning it.
After a fan had died in my psu I found the 1700 sitting at 69c after getting in from work. Suprisingly it had no ill effect.
the 3000 sits at 54c maxed ant 49 idle, so it at least runs cooler.

thats quite decent...

ive a passion for hating amd... but thats not to bad... my p4 runs at bout 30 degrees under load not much more than 40

My Athlon XP2000 runs at a happy 37oC on standby but is up to 60oC now it runs all the time. Has a fair few fans and so on around it and the rest of the system is cool enough and doesn't crash so I just let it be. If it gets unhappy I'm sure it will tell me :)

My P4 running around the 30 mark most of the time, as can be seen on pic from earlier - only even had alarm beep once at the 40 mark, and that is the lowest setting as well! Can't be bad.....

i dont know what any of all this means, but i thought id give, my 2 cents and what not :D

my 1800 Duron runs at 46oC, and its been on all day, but it seems im not like everyone on here, cause my pc was the cheapest one i cauld get (£170 (y) ), i dont have all these bells and whisles like you lot :)

oh, and is it alrite for my CPU to run at 100% ALL the time??

(OT)

The 17's with those tyres will actually reduce the gearing by 1% - you won't notice any speed difference at all. Won't make the car sit any higher or lower either.

(/OT) !
