The World Trade Center rebuilding fiasco. Looks like 1 World Trade Center (previously Freedom Tower) may be as late as 2019, 2 WTC will be turned into a stump building of only four floors, 3 WTC will be a stump and 5 WTC looks to be cancelled altogether. What a fitting tribute to the victims; "Oh we cannot be bothered or afford to build a fitting tribute, so we'll just fudge it". Also, what message does it give to terrorists if we do not emerge from 9/11 stronger than ever? Bloody Larry Silverstein pocketing the insurance money and running.

Thinking about THE FARCE that is the UK insurance system! You pay hundreds of pounds every year, just to be treated like a criminal. The system is full of inertia and inefficiency!
I think it sould be one massive area of paving with lots of benchs and a plaque in the middle as a memorial.
