Pole is legal though, rope isn't iirc.

Never had an issue myself, but then again I have one of these

I've got one of those and several recovery points - I've tow'd loads of experienced people with ropes / straps chains etc.... however 1 person with no experience on a pole was nasty.

Rope for emergency use only to remove car to place of safety

Any form of tow unless it's on a trailer is only legal for recovery to a safe location.... mine field of laws :(

I carry, are you ready

1x 4m 5t Tow rope
2x windy jacks
2x Towing eyes
1x tree strap
1x 3m Hand winch
2x 4ft scaffold boards

All for good reason too haha...

Just changed the HT leads on a Matiz, what a difference that's made to it's oommpphh! :slayer:

Rather scary how quick it'll pick up and how badly it handles!

EDIT: just to point out this is happy but it makes me grumpy at how badly it's been looked after and how rubbish the car is at anything other than straight line!

What people do where ilive if a car is pranged
(its rough as toast up here mind so every other door has cctv,)

do some door knocking and see if anyone has seen anything or if they have
a cctv setup,

worth atry,

I tried the CCTV route and there wasn't any, the woman who told me about it didn't write anything down (DOH!:bang:) and it's next to a railway station with no houses...... It's no good I'll never know who it was which vexes me even more!

Time to get a car cam?
Mine activated the other morning with the juddering of the wipers :D
If any one hits our car then hopefully caught by cam :)

Mercifully it was the front indicator that took it, the lens is cracked and the casing that holds the bulb is smashed. There's a minor ripple in the body work but I'm confident I'll bash that out plus some scuffing which some t-cut will deal with. Luckily the head light and the bumper escaped. If it was 10 inches to the left and it would've been a different story :(

I've ordered a new lamp (£12) and some new plastic screws so the bill is only around £20 plus a bit of body work fettling. It's just the thought of someone doing it and thinking "oh well, better get out of here quick" it's never happened to me before but I know it's happened to a lot of people on here as I read it all the time
