Hi all
Just had my instal completed and, firstly, was wondering what the Input Level dial does on the amp and what setting the Input Level dial should be at.(Min -Max)?
Its a 240x 2 ch MOSFET amp powering a 10" sub-I've got got it at half way if it matters.
My apologies-I know virtually nil about installs!!
Thank you
Peter

Its kind of like the sensitivity of the single being processed (Gain). If its up max, it'll be louder but more distorted. Too low and it will be good quality but you wont get the most from your speakers.

Its all about trial and error IMO, but about half to 2/3's is usually the norm

I agree, set you amp levels (gain) to around 2/3rd, with bast boost half way, then set your head unit settings to bass 2/3rds treble up max, and then depends if you have 6/9's set fade to rear by about 2,. if you have a decent set up front dont fade it :) hope this helps

Trial and error is the way to go. Drive round and listen to it for a while at various volumes with different types of music; if the bass is overpowering the rest of the sound then reduce the bass boost and amp gain slightly; if it lacks bass then turn them up. Keep at it unti you've got the sound how you want it. It took me ages to get my amp set up how I like it, and I still fiddle with the head unit bass levels according to the music I'm playing.
