I seem to remember seeing Selenia as one of the sponsors on the Alfa Touring Cars, maybe they are owned or part of the FIAT group. So they are bound to say that Selenia is used, I would've thought Shell would've been acceptable as well. Would be interesting to know.

As long as its not castrol and is:-
for Petrol its..
SAE 5W-40
ACEA A3
and Diesel its:
SAE 5W-40
ACEA B4
You got nothing to worry about but If still under warranty Id play on the side of caution and use selinia or they will try and worm there way out of the claim.
Saying that I got my first service done at a Fiat dealer on my 05 1.4 16v Sporting and they used 10w/40 Castrol GTX
. I know its coincidence but my gearbox f***ed up a week later......

( I have a 1.9 sporting m jet on a 07 plate, which oil would you recomend to put in as it needs toping up?
Are you losing oil? Why a top-up so soon on a nearly new engine?

most new fiats seem to use a bit of oil as they run in.. put about 1/2 a ltr a year in mine which i dont think is excessive..
I am surprised Andy,so i will maintain a periodic check on my new 57 GPActive Aircon.
My previous car a W reg. xsara 1.4 hatchback never had an oil leak or top up,however the oil was changed on service every year.
