Technical What is that? - Induction question

Saw a photo in a magazine today, basically showed the filter sponge part of an induction kit, but it had a nozzel directed at it.

Now if this could take air from a vent on the front of the car, and force cool air upon the end of the sponge, would performance increase? I guess yes, but I have no idea how much! Has anyone tried anything like this.

Also interested in GSRF1i (the cheaper one) does it come with a heat shield? If not, is it worth giving it one?

its a hose for feeding air to the filter as you said.

is the GSR the same design as the more expensive one?if so the filter is remote so wouldnt really need a heatshield.

Im not actually sure of the differecences!

I was told the more expensive has better BMC CDA Air Filter on it

What that means I dont know! And if it keeps the same design or not, I also don't Know

Oh and Bad Boy Racer, Expect a PM from me regarding an induction kit when I get next months paycheck though
