My best quote for the HGT in 2000 at the age of 29 was £390.
My first quote was £1200

Nope! Not a hope in hell!

£2000 for a 1.2 8v?! Why so expensive? Have you got a really poor record or something? I pay £230 fully comp, protected NCB etc etc etc on a 1.4 16v Sporting and think that's bloody bad enough!!

had a crash last year, wrote my old punto off, wet round about with oil on, but by the time the police got there the rain had git really heavy and washed it away

I'm 24, 2years NCB, had a crash in 2003, a few points , and I'm paying £770 for my Stilo

Nicko, save your dosh mate, hang on til the premiums drop, no offense but what would happen to your premium if you had another bump?

Pretty much anything with a bit of go is gonna set you back well over £2k, save the money and go on holiday with it

I used to get quotes for some cars I'd like to own and a few when I was starting out there was nothing below £1250 and that was TPFT.

Now at 24 with 3 years NCB in 3 months time, these cars are now around £600-£900 fully comp!

Christ i pay £1700 for the same car but with all mods mentioned and 6 points!! Thats with no no claims or anything like that!! And i am 22!!

I'd prefer to pay nothing!

£230 is still £230! - I pay my insurance year on year for absolutely nothing. I haven't ever claimed on the policy and I've had the same policy/been with the same company since passing my test in 1997. Direct Line - No one can touch them (for me anyway!).

If they don't ever have a crash or have the need to claim then they're exactly the same as me - EXCEPT THEY DON'T HAVE TO FORK OUT MONEY EVERY YEAR LIKE ME AND YOU!!!!

Yeah but if you have an acident you are getting a little pay out but if they have on acident they lose there car!! I feel the same realy, It is pathetic the prices we get for our insurance!! It is as if they think just because we are young we are gonna drive like pricks!! Granted some do but 9 out of 10 people that actually care for there car will take care of it!! There for being more carefull and concious!! I know i am!!

I got quoted 2500 euro to insure a hgt punto and am paying 917.55 fully comp on a 1.4 sporting, insurance, its a funny thing. Have a full licence and full NCB, just out of interest i asked about the insurance on a turbo subaru and its 150 euro dearer than a hgt :bang:
