General What engine instead of 182b6000 mod 2003

Hi my friends

my doblo is adorable but his engine has a permanent problem with the ecu , i tried to repair it i tried to find new one but i didnt make it.One guy told me to throw away the car!!!
Its a pitty because the car is in very good condition with no rust etc
Another guy told me to replace the engine with the 1.4 petrol , is it viable ? will it work? That engine is more reliable than mine ?

Yes that's the engine I have with the permanent problem on the ecu, is it possible to fit the 1.3 multijet diesel ; is it reliable as a motor ; or any other engine more reliable than mine

With enough time and money changing to a completely different engine is possible but very very expensive.
