i got a fiat coupe 20vt and it sounds like a supercharger/screamer is fitted. ive got new manifold and gaskets- onli mods its got is a kn filter-bailey dumpvalve and a blueflame exhaust. does every1s sounds like mine or is there something wrong with mine lol

The five pot rumble is a very pleasant sound indeed when dawdling around town
However if you open the taps the engine roar is very dramatic, but mines doesn't scream

A 20vt completly standard will sound completly diffrent than one with induction, eshast and dump valve.
It will sound even deeper and throaty if you have better manafold to, im going for a 5 branch ported and polished.
My is standar apart from chip and mine sounds very throaty low in revs, when turbo comes in and you also get the full potonshal of the 20v straight 5 cylinder it sounds nasty. music to my ears, and when i get my induction kit and eshast and manafold I cant wait.
just bought dump valve and boost gauge that I will fit when I get induction kit.

Sounds likes gearbox/diff whine perhaps. Mine does it 'sometimes'.

maybe's mine has a K&N panel filter too, along with a drilled airbox (done by previous owner).

My coupe wines at really low revs when crawling along, but soon as you get above 1500 revs it goes, im told that happens to alot with many 20vt's.
If you are getting a whisle low down off boost then id say that maybe its not supose to do that.
Cant say for sure till i here it so if you want to meet and compere you have got my fone number.
If your that worried tho i know a coupe/italian specialist near the town center.

One way to elimenate the induction kit fromthe enquiry is start you engine and take of your induction while it on idle, see if it sounds diffrent or whatever.
Or just put the airbox back on, start your car and see if it sounds any diffrent. you can put the induction kit back on after.

The screaming sound is gasses trying to escape, usually a symptom of a restrictive exhaust. Sounds great though

What he means is the gas from the engine going out the exhaust (no leaks) there's that much it tends to make a noise on the 20vt (does on mine)

Wuss Good exhausts the Blueflames. I'd keep it on there (and get earplugs!) Decatting makes the exhaust seem to scream more and the sound is noticeably louder. Also cackles and pops on the overrun. Nice!

The 20V engine sounds better than the 20VT one, you ain't got a turbo on there chopping up the sound!
