i got it it down the hole it was wall to wall but i couldnt get it to go round the spark plug, it was a socket type for a rachet, it says it was 10mm but i think its more like 16mm???.

can anyone help or better yet give me a link to were you got your spark plug tool from.

i dnt want to go buy one without know what size it is and if im even getting the proper tool.

ave never had this prob with any of my cars just this punto.

whats the actual size ?

its for a 1.2 punto 85 s reg 16 v

thanx

Just take one of the replacement plugs with you to halfords and check it fits. They are 16mm from memory.

If I remember correctly spark plugs are sized by the thread not the socket needed on them.

If its like mine you'll need to take off the coils cover - not ideal in Halfords car park. Best bet is to ask for the correct plugs for your car and get them to give you the appropriate spanner to fit.
Over in Derby I prefer Romac in Spondon or JG Bestwick in Allenton.

hi thanxs guys.

just found out that the way the measure a spark plug key is corner to corner, not edge to edge on the socket.

Erm no its not. As RC says the thread dia is measured to give the plug size and the across flats will give the spanner size. Though some plug spanners and sockets do quote the thread size on the spanner.

yes anno this white but if you go on ebay and put spark plug tools in youll find a spark plug tool showing the actual measurement corner to corner on the picture.

there must be different ways of measuring a spark plug key but i go by this and it works for me.

lol, bloody spark plug key sizes. i always thought it was the same as a nut fitting a socket lol
