Here by popular demand - a section for all you real petrol heads out there (y)

If you have a model specific question, please post it in the relevant model forum - however if it's just a generic tuning question/thread, feel free to unleash it onto the tuning crew :)

And incase you aren't completely sure what Tuning is (we had quite a debate about this) - if it's related to improving one of the following, it's going to be Tuning (y)

The short version is - if it improves performance and handling, it's tuning - if it just replaces as like for like what you already had, or just makes the car look better - it's NOT tuning.

The List:

neeny09 said:
Engine Upgrades
Breathing Mods (Intake and Exhaust)
Internal Engine Tuning Modifications (Rebores, Pistons etc)
Gas Flow (Inlet Diameter, Inlet Valves and Re-maps)
Sport Computer Tuning (Re-mapping, Chipping and Flashing)
Port Matching (Port matching involves adjusting the diameter of the exhaust and inlet ports to match the profile on the manifolds which is nearly always bigger)
Camshafts
Forced Air Induction (Turbo Charger)
Fueling (Injectors and Fuel Pump)
Performance Brakes and/or Suspension

Bodykits, OEM Replacement Brakes, HID lights, Lowering Springs, Alloy Wheels etc etc don't count!

nar its dreaming. like the 1001 and 1 threads from 17 yo asking if they can fit a 20vt in to there 1.1 punto or cinq, them threads best left to get lost in sections, tuning section has to be serious stuff. we told the panda bloke where the engine has to go to fit but he wasn't interested
