General Water in footwells

Before I start dismantling, I wondered if anyone has any ideas why my driver's side footwell is very damp? I presume from water leaking into it. I've searched the forum but haven't found anything. And no, I don't have continence problems (that I'm prepared to admit to).

Can you tell if it's getting wet after it's been sitting in the rain and not being driven, or is it only when driven in the wet?

If it's getting wet when it's raining and not going anywhere, it's probably a leak from the windscreen, or maybe the front sunroof (common).

If it's only getting wet when driven, then you may have a hole somewhere underneath.
I'm not sure if there are any rubber bungs in that area, have a look underneath for any circular holes (drain or access holes).

I have a hole on the passenger side, mrs goes crazy whenever i drive through a puddle lol, fix it with liquid steel i guess? Its an intentional hole though??

If it's meant to be there (the hole), then it should have a rubber bung fitted.
How big is it?
