Hi all,

I'm looking for some advise on my warranty. I have a 2008 Bravo tjet sport.
About two years ago the drivers side drive shaft went on the drivers side on my car. I brought it to my garage and was told the brakes were warped. So i brought it to another garage and they confirmed it was the drive shaft(I might add the Fiat garage had my car for two days and still managed to mis-diagnose the problem(n))... Anyway after a lot of arguing they agreed to replace it under warranty(originally they wouldn't fix it because they said I was driving the car too fast and that was the result of the problem(n)).
The Fiat garage I bought the car from closed down shortly after this and because of the terrible experience I decided not to go near a Fiat garage again. I had have been getting my car serviced by my own mechanic who is trust worthy and doesn't charge a fortune.
In the past few weeks I have noticed that my drive shaft has gone again, I know this because the car rocks when any power is put down and its the same feedback through the pedals as the last time.
Because I haven't been servicing the car in a Fiat garage do you think they will honour my warranty?

Cheers
Andy

Them saying you've been driving too fast is a piece of **** in my opinion. It doesn't state anywhere that driving fast invalidates your warranty.

Warranty is a very grey area. It seems like it all depends on how cool your local garage is.
It's like the police. You get good eggs and bad eggs. But mostly bad eggs. :p

i'm thinkin they'll say I've invalidated my warranty by not bringing it to a fiat dealer. I'll take it to my local garage on my day off but I think I should get in contact with Fiat first. Draft shafts I'd say are pretty expensive so I will go all the way through the legal route if it comes to it..... I'm already considering legal, just goes to show my experience with Fiat so far!

I had this problem on mine a couple of years ago - same symptoms of vibrating under accelleration, etc. No joy with the warranty as the garage I'd bought it from hadn't transferred the 3rd year of the warranty (there's a time limit for doing this!), but you might be ok if you're the 1st owner. Eventually got it fixed at a fiat specialist - cost around £250. Thankfully the car has been faultless since!!
