General Wanted thread

Due to the nature of owning a Panda, and the fact there is almost always someone who is needing parts, I think it would be useful to have a "wanted thread". Then people can post here without creating a new thread each time, and then if anybody has that spare part kicking around, they can reply.

I'll start off:

1 X Fan switch
1 X Clutch cable for a 750
1 X Rubber boot seal
Pair of tinted rear sisley lights.

Let me know if you think this is a good idea.

tis about time you lot got yours selves out onto the rest of the site any way

edit cluch cables are a fiver from motor factors

i think its a good idea Lloyd, as most panda owners would rather use the panda section for swapping/selling. sorry Dave, but us panda owners are shy people, who prefer other panda owners to chat to , and here is my list..

1: 4 wire 2 plug lambda sensor.
2: a selecta badge.
3: a rear wiper.

I agree, as alot of people on here will have a shed full of bits and they wont list every single item in the classifieds.

why is it harder to list in the classified than on the forum?

its the new rules i am afraid a lot of time and effort has gone into making the classified better for your benefit.

Daves right folks. Ben has put a lot of time and effort into promoting the classifieds section. The word from the boss is that any for sale or wanted threads on the main forum are to be deleted.

used it to take some rabbit boxes round my dads when we went to skeggy, used it for taking a load of stuff to the tip, timing been out since i fit new dizzy, so not used it much, but today why i was looking for another lost thing i found my timing light

I don't think it's harder Dave probably just less personal, I've only been here a very short while and have noticed that although loads of members use the panda part of the site, a much smaller number use it regularly i.e. most days.

If somebody wants something for the panda a quick post saying such and if anyone can help, they jump straight in without hesitation and mostly free so it wouldn't be advertised in the first place.

The problem with such a large site is that the classifieds are spread amongst a huge membership and I'm sure wanted articles for a specific model get lost amongst the amount of others. This is no critisism in any way shape or form as i think the site is excellent and due to it's size you must be very dedicated with the other moderators in the day to day running.

The classified section in my site in comparison is easy as it is a specialised site for a particular model and almost all classified ads are for that model so you don't have to look long to find all, we only have 170 members as well so the day to day running is again probably much easier in comparison.

A site of this size I think would suit having a classified section for each model you specialise in or even just a sticky wanted post for each section for people to stick a quick post up of something they desperately need and remove it after 7 days or so but it will add more work to regulate

:yeahthat: very well said Alan. i prefer using the classic panda section for asking if anybody has any parts that i can buy or swap for.

Dave, can we have this one thread for swaps etc, and we can use the classifieds for everything else. it would also help if it was a sticky

could ask Ben but you see the thing is, the forum classified section may actually bring in new members to the site for the panda section if its got more panda stuff in it

may be a free stuff only thread could be allowed, but i just the monkey will need to ask the organ grinder

If you lot want to do this then the other smaller forums will want the same.

IMO i think you should use the classifieds like everyone else has to, not fair on others if you dont.
