Well because its summer now in oz, you will be wanting a fabric boot. Try going for the Berghaus Explorer 4....

If youve been all over in them theyve been well worth the money. (y)

Squeeking after a long period of time is normal in walking boots especially if well used

You can get them re-soled. We used to use a company called Lancashire sports repairs. Very good on price also IIRC and very good quality. Here is the website

Id just keep persevering, maybe try a thinner pair of socks, to see if that helps

If im honest ladies preferred the boots not as high, around the ankles as this caused it to be uncomfortable. I always used to say dont tie them all the way to the top instead tie them up to the second last one, which seemed to help. Ladies are well hard to sell to.

onlu kidding, I am willing to spend about 100 to 150 quid as they have to last me a long time and like i say I do have o be careful with my ankles, damm my brother, for breaking one of them twice, i would like to point out however, i hope he didn't do it on purpose:D

yes it's summer over there my unc said it was 33 degrees there yesterday, lucky sod!!:cool:

I had a good reputation :)

at 100-150 you are looking at top end boots, you can have your pick really. Have you had a look at some? seen any you like?

well its not mine, i used to work there for 3 years and worked my way up from odd job boy to main footwear salesperson. ;)

It is called kenmar camping and leisure, it is based in west yorks.

you had a good reputation, well i bet it's great now!! lol without wishing to hijack the thread hope ur diabetes is setling down now?

not really had chance to look, been so busy getting everything else sorted like visas, insurance, changing jobs, getting my health sorted, plane ticket and more more importantly my leaving party, it's sorta been on the back of my to do list, which is never ending(n)

but on lates this week, so will pop in2 town in the morning and have a look(y)

in google, type these words in and should lead you to the companies website, have a browse and let me know and ill tell you good, bad etc

For lightweight comfy approach shoes/trainers try a company called merrell

When trying them on, take your time, dont be forced into buying the boots, places like blacks, milletts etc are based on commission so went you in and out with something, dont let them push you around, especially in your situation by having had 2 broken ankles.

I would try them on with a pair of socks you are most likely to wear when you are in OZ.

Dont forgot you need a finger space of room down the back.

If they dont feel comfy when you put them on, they never will be, dont try and fight it, if it doesnt feel right dont buy
