wait message on punto mk2 radio...

Hi guys,
I am having a problem with the standard cassette player in the punto mk2 I have just bought. It just says 'wait' on the screen, which can take up to 48hrs I know but, this has been three days now!! The garage may have disconnected the battery when it went back for a repair, so may have reset the waiting time I don't know. All I want is some tunes for my hour and a half trip to and from work. I have the code for the radio which I got from the main dealers (for free!!). Is there any way of resetting the radio so it returns back to the code screen? or do I have to wait for days on end just to be able to switch on the radio

try disconnecting the battery agian and left it overnight

Thanks mate, I have actually now taken the radio out of the car over night to see if this will help reset it.
