Virus checker?

Hiya,

Just wondered if anyones got the link or know the name of the ntlworld virus checker, it was an online one and was really good but i cant remember the link

Theres something not right with my comp, its not loading any pics after a few seconds on the internet.

Just did a quick search and saw nothing, best bet IMO would be AVG - free and one of the best.

There are online virus checkers if you would prefer this?

I cant find it either

When i got ntl it told me the link to go to, im not sure if it was from ntl or they were just promoting someone elses.

I had AVG but i didnt want to put any rubbish on my comps as its just been rebuilt.

Do you know of a decent online one?

Im sure the ntl one was called home something

Lora, I would serious recommend you have a proper virus checker - doing an online scan these days every so often isn't enough. You need a "resident" checker that checks a lot of in/out traffic (such as emails).

I don't have any online checkers to hand and as above, it will only help in the short term.

Practically ncessary software these days are:
Virus checker
Adaware
Firewall

With one or more of these missing you could get a bad day.

I am sure a NTL person will be able to help?

I wasnt using my comp very much so didnt see the point.

I thought you could only alter the amount you save in cashe as apposed to deleting it completly at random times.

Cookies shouldnt make a difference to the fact pictures wont display should they?

But have you tried a disk clean up then a defrag?

Helped mine when it kept messing me around!

to empty your cache, load up internet explorer and go to Tools, Internet Options and then on the general tab, delete the cookies and temporary internet files.
