Hi
I`ve started stripping my spare cylinder head to recondition it,But i havent got a valve spring compressor,I`m going to buy one but want to make sure i get the correct one,The valve stems seem quite set into the head so i was wondering if i need the compressor as used on 16v engines or just a standard one for use on small to medium cars?
Many thanks

I've got the Laser one from Halfords, works a treat. Used it when I refurbed the head on mine - think it was £17 or so.

Draper ones for me, they are actually very good, which i was surprised by, I usually buy snap-on, but am fed up of my dealer, he is a nightmare to contact at the minute.

Mines a Sykes-Pickavant and i've had it 15 years without any problems.

Edited to say : it is a double action compressor and has been used on lots of different heads, 16V or otherwise.
