Hi

I was READING through the manual and went out to the car to try a few things out, one being setting the user EQ on the radio.

I followed the instructions but nothing would let me edit the user EQ settings, so I dabbled.

Apparently you need to hold down the UP arrow on the radio to be able to edit the levels rather than the down arrow that the manual says.

Out of interest what EQ setting have you gone for? I use Jazz - although I listen to more or less everything except Jazz

No interscope , have to limit the budget some where.
I like a lot of bass , especially while listening to Steel Pulse, The Jazz profile comes close but wanted to have some control.

I havn't listened to too much music in the car as yet so need a bit more time to work out whats best for me.

so do you have the "user" settings on the eq which can be set by you ? or just the preset jazz pop rock etc profiles, i got interscope and use only the user settings set up using a spl meter i'll post a pic of the user profile if anyone is interested.

Think i'd better read the manual - i'm just listening to the radio "as it arrived"! I've found loads of channels though when going through them (ipod still not arrived) and lots of foreign radio channels I couldn't get on my old car ..... spanish and french from what I could make out. Has it got a really powerful aerial or something :p

Aye, been playing with mine on my Panda 100hp (I presume the speakers are the same?) - I find all the presets suck really, Jazz was the best but many voices sounded weak, on rock there was just too much muffled bass. The system is never going to be great to be fair to it but the best settings all round I found were -

first bar (left to right, low bass first) - all the way to top
second bar - flat
third bar - one notch up
fourth bar - all the way to top
fifth bar - 3 notches up
sixth bar - 2 notches up
seventh bar - 1 notch up.

This is from memory, I may have gone one bar too far and a notch too high but it's basically that! I found voices to be clear but not harsh and bass to thump but not sound muddled. Best I could get from the limitations of the system! I'll update when I've been out if the settings are different - also like the noise/speed matching high and have "loud" mode on.

I work for a speaker company so have a fairly decent knowledge of what sounds good ;)

Actually bump those last three up one more notch and then it should sound perfect ;) Cycle through the other presets after to hear the difference! :D
