General Upgrading brakes on a 2001 Punto Sporting?

Hi, I've just bought a 2001 Punto Sporting and while I'm really happy with the car overall, the brakes leave a lot to be desired. Does anyone have any experience of upgrading them or links to more info please?

do you mean upgrade to a higher spec or big brakes?
have you checked the brakes are fully servicable and not needing new parts?

Id agree with custard check the efficiancy of the breaks that are on the car as normally the standard brakes are very good and sharp .

I've got a receipt for new discs and pads from Fiat 5k ago.

Doesnt mean they cleaned up the pad carriers and other components, or that the brake system has had its fluid replaced, or been bled recently , which is often what causes bad breaking.
