Technical Uno mk2 rear wheel arch trim

Can anyone please let me know how the black plastic trim at the bottom front edge of a mk2 Uno fixes to the outside bodywork?
I suspect that there is rust behind mine and want them removed to have a look. I've taken out the three plastic pegs in the arch itself but the trim won't budge. I don't want to risk breaking it by forcing something. Any advice gratefully accepted.

I hope my reply reaches you on time to attempt to do the job.
In my case, the trim was glued to the bodywork. It was a pain to get rid of the glue and yet I have broken the trim. All I can recommend is to use heat so that the glue gains elasticity so that you can cut it out.

Thanks. I guessed it might be glued on as I can see no other fixings. Will try a gentle dose of the heat gun and see if it moves!
