hi, i was at the swansea vintage car show today and i stumbled upon a carb and a CT manifold. The person suggested it may have come off a fiat before i mentioned i had a fiat, but he may still be wrong. Any idea's what this is for. Its code is 32 DGV-07A. Also i assume this carb will work on my panda which uses the 32 DAT-R. Both 32 so in theory.....

The base is the same dimensions aswell so will just bolt onto the existing adaptor with no trouble atall. Ive just got to try and work out how the linkages will work now. Its nothing like mine, both the chokes operate at the same time in this one, where as my current one, one of the chokes operate at low throttle and when flat on the floor the other opens up wide!

Well anyway, now i am just babbling! IF anyone has any idea's then please let me know. Also if anyone does recognise what the ct manifold is for and wants it i shall be selling it minus the carb of course!

Cheers
Si

The 32 DGV-07A was fitted to Ford Escort/Capri 1300/GT's. The 07A defines the cars/jets it was set up for/with. There is no listing of the 32 dgv being fitted to a Fiat as standard equipment.

Ah ok, so the jets will need to be changed to suit my engine capacity? I was thinking that it would be ok, as they are both 32 carbs. But tbh it was a guess.

By any chance would you know if there is any infomation available on it. There are missing linkages and a few problems i must look at before it will work, but i really need a picture of how its suposed to look.

Thanks for your input!

I was thinking that it would be ok, as they are both 32 carbs.

what a strange thing to assume
even if it was from a fiat that would not be a sensible assumption.

the 32 DGV was a progressive 2 barrel carb with 26mm primary and 27mm secondary barrels. the second barrel will only open once the first has fully opened, giving the carb good low rpm and high rpm airflow, which is why this was a popular carb in racing.

thankfully that means parts are still widely available, so i'm sure you can find the linkages easily enough. there is also a load of info on the net about these carbs (search for 32 DGV).

check this parts diagram and list http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/swizzjnr/index/32_36DGV.pdf

Heya, yeah i am pretty damn ignorant when it comes to carbs. I thought the 32 perhaps applied to the air intake size. So it being the same i thought it might be good for a 1 litre aswell. Like on a mini's SU carb which are an inch and a quater. Anyway, there are numbers on the side of the barrels (24 and 23). So this might be different to the one in that link you sent. Any chance they make jets for this carb that would suit a 1 litre? I have done some research that says this carb was only used on cars from 1300cc up. Does anyone know this to be true?

Sorry to go on a bit, would love to have my car running reliably again :D

Thanks for your help,

Si
