Has anyone fitted a unipart diesel filter to a 1.9 JTD Multipla? I've got one from my local shop and the part number matches the Unipart code, but its about an inch and a half shorter than the one thats onthere already. Anybody know if it matters?

Couple of points, being shorter probably means less filtering medium so not for extended oil changes!
Being shorter might also mean no filter bypass, better filters have a bypass which makes sure the engine gets oil albeit unfiltered rather than being oil-starved.

As long as you replace at the recommended interval shouldn't be an issue.

i think you mean the diesel fuel filter, i have fitted a fram one, was slight difference in size, but fine.
undo bracket holding fuel filter and disconnect electric plug to it before removing
