Uconnect Uconnect 5" firmware update: 13.00.80.01

I would try a proxi alignment when your tool comes
hi! my OBDLINK SX and MX+ (yes, i bought two) and a pair of extra cables (blue and gray) finally arrived and I was successful doing the proxi alignment with multiecuscan. As a consequence, no more flashing hodometer and, YES!, the radio is showing JEEP logos and color scheme without I've been made any other change.
:slayer:
Maybe the radio verify by itself to which car is it attached (after the proxi properly aligned) and automatically show the corret logos.
Thank you for your support.

Hi Guys, first post here.

So, long story short. We had a few issues with connecting newer phones to the Uconnect. Intermittent issues with the volume not working. Thought that getting the main dealer to upgrade the firmware wouldn't hurt. They say they have done this, but the background colour is still red. I thought the new version has a black gradient wallpaper?

How can I find out what version the firmware is on? I tried RADIO+MEDIA+BROWSE but didn't seem to work. Is there any trick I'm missing?

Thanks in advance guys.:slayer:

Hi All,
I have a Peugeot boxer with a Fiat 250 VP2 ECE DAB NAV Stereo and it only shows the logo, you can hear the existing radio station but nothing else appears to respond. It was like this when i purchased the van and the previous owner said it happened when he had the battery changed.
If i try to update using the firmware on here do you think it may respond? Anything else i can try before i do this?
Thanks in advance

Hi I have the Peugeot Boxer 2015 Professional, and this Firmware update worked for me, I now have DAB radio

Huge thanks to LordMetro for the info and firmware file! ... Lost DAB radio last night, searched the forum this morning and found this thread. Downloaded the file onto a USB stick, stuck it into the usb port and hey presto .. 40 minutes later Dab restored and firmware updated on my 2015 Ducato X290 ... Brilliant!!

Hi thanks for your reply. I updated to the Fiat Firmware but still the splash screen is Peugeot.
So how to replace this with the Fiat splash screen
Thanks

to replace with the Fiat splash screen you need to do a custom proxi alignement with multiecuscan and change byte 130 to "04"

Hi,

Thanks for a useful thread.

Apologies for my incompetence, I'm hoping someone will be able to provide clarity...

I have a Citroen Relay (2016). The AM and FM radio works fine but the DAB does not. I am let to believe I need to undertake a firmware update.

I have tried to find out the HW Variant ID by following previous instructions (by going into the Engineering Menu on the radio by holding down Radio + Media + Browse buttons) - however once I'm in the Engineering Menu it still doesn't show the HW Variant ID...

Please can someone confirm what link I will need to use to download the relevant firmware & (if possible!) a step-by-step process of how I go about installing it to my van's radio. LordMetro is this something you could help with?

Apologies, I'm not very tech-y.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello!

Well from what I have seen about the new uConnect 7, is that there are two variables in the dev log that need changing to activate the navigation. I believe they're:

If this is available to change via the proxi alignment, then that should do you good :D

From my side, I will investigate the firmware on the VP2R7 and see the hardware variants and what system image the Uconnect installer installs.

uConnect VP2R7 hardware variants:

So there are actually a lot of hardware variants for the newer uConnect 7:
Features:
  • Hi-Res / Low-Res screen models (namely HIPACK and STPACK)
  • Non-nav w/o gps&fEMMC
  • Non nav w/o gps (but with the correct EMMC)
  • nav models (with GPS and EMMC)

EMMC types (High Res models):
  • 1GB RAM/seMMC
  • full eMMC
  • no eMMC + 512mb ram

Low res models do not have this specified.

Region Models:
  • CHR ECE
  • CHR NAFTA
  • CHR ROW
  • FGA ECE
  • FGA ROW
  • FGA NAFTA
  • FGA APAC

Models with carplay/auto:
  • ProjectionDevice support (VP2_PD)
  • No phone mirroring --->>> VP2_NOPD

TomTom variants:
  • VP2_NAV_DUMMY <!-- all non NAV w/o GPS/fEMMC samples-->
    Installs navapps dummy 4010158_DUMMY.FRG
  • VP2_NAV_POSONLY <!-- all non NAV with GPS samples-->
Installs navapps package 4010158_POSONLY.FRG (POS - Maybe points of interest??)
  • VP2_NAV <!-- all NAV samples-->
    Installs navapps package 4010158.FRG
And other packages which you can find in xml.

So its quite possible to have eMMC space limitations as well with some variants. Try the proxi alignment and then a firmware update if this doesn't sort it out, last resort is to change the file of the dummy and it's signature file in folder with one of the navigation with signature replaced with the filename of the dummy. This will very likely brick it so big risk tho.

Please, could you explain wich files and folder try to replace? I have uconnect 7 ece dab gps and i would like try to installa tomtom app. I already tried with proxy align (nav presence and repetition) with no luck! Already have maps files also :)

Re: Uconnect 5' firmware update

Completely understand this, sorry for my late reply - this is probably the only time I was free thanks to the Corona outbreak :D

There was a change to access the engineering menu in one of the earlier 4.X/5/6 firmware releases (I cannot remember).

From the Fiat service documentation that was released with the 12.X firmware,

With radio on
• For systems with versions SW 04.01.38 and prior to 06.00.23, press the 2 RADIO + BROWSE / ENTER buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.

If this is not the case then:
• For systems with SW 06.00.23 or later versions, press the 3 buttons RADIO + MEDIA + BROWSE / ENTER simultaneously for more than 5 seconds
Wait for a few seconds until the Engineering Mode screen is displayed, at this point select General
The line (Base line) displayed on the screen indicates the software version present in the device

• Switch off and on again using the ON / OFF key, to exit the Engineering Mode menu and return to normal operation.

I hope this helps :)

If you do install any version here, the system will automatically check if it is compatible with one of the listed HW Variants in the update package.

Please, could you explain wich files and folder try to replace? I have uconnect 7 ece dab gps and i would like try to installa tomtom app. I already tried with proxy align (nav presence and repetition) with no luck! Already have maps files also :)

Sorry, haven't really done this as I do not own the 7' but I do remember there was progress in some type of proxi alignment hacking in some other Fiat forum.

I've got a 2014 Fiat 500L Trekking with non Nav Uconnect 5. Having problems with Siri eyes free (iPhone 5S iOS 12.4.5) just won;t work. Is this Siri eyes free capable? Will Upgrading the firmware help? I doubt my 500L has been anywhere near fiat since its last obligatory service?

I believe Siri eyes free is not supported by our uConnect 5', the other 6.5' and 8' would have supported it at the time this was released. You can try to upgrade the firmware to see if FCA added any support for the 5', but I am not sure to be honest :(

The uConnect does include a built-in voice recognition system but it rarely works and you have to go through hoops of menus :/

  • Synchronization speed of the address book is apparently faster
  • Russian language fixes from service news
  • Any bug fixes that the 13.00.65.02 release had

http://www.cinquecentisti.com/forum...ggiornamento-uconnect-5-a-14.html#post1643434
We are like this: 13.00.77.00 for 500 Abarth, Fiat 500, Giulietta, Ypsilon and Ducato
13.00.65.02 for 500L, MiTo and Doblò
For the 7 inches instead: 23.00 .81.04 for 500 23.01.75.17 for Type 13.00.65.02 exclusive of the 500X 5 inches 23.02.25.13 exclusive 500X restyling 7 inches
The 13.00.77.00 at the end simply solves problems regarding the Russian language, so those with 13.00.65.02 are at place anyway.

Navigation users who were on older versions that could never upgrade to any of firmwares, don't worry, I have found a older v12 firmware with navigation. I do not know if it works, but someone did comment about instaling in on a DAB+Nav system.

I myself thought that Nav users can updated using our VP2_CO firmwares anyway but this is just what someone posted over there.

Updates that are failing on some cars, these have to be done incrementally, 12.00.24.01 -> 13.00.57.05 -> 13.00.74.00.
Keep your engine on, you wouldn't want your battery to die during the upgrades and use a known good working stick. If in warranty, dealer can do it safely (responsibility lies on them) - if you're doing it, becareful! The nand chips on these headunits are wearing out or the system itself is overheating, a few reported units have died prematurely without failure due to this.

Re: Uconnect 5' firmware update

Hi uConnect 5" users,

Updated my uConnect 5" NAV (without DAB) (Fiat 500L 2014) from 13.00.57.05 to 13.00.74.00 without problems.

Hi Guys,
Updated to 13.00.74.00 and when i went into reverse this screen popped up, now its stuck here.
The buttons seem to be working in the background, can mute and change through radio ect but the display does not change.
Can i roll back the firmware?
anyone got similar issues or can they help?
