Hi,

Can i replace the 175/65/R14 tyres on the front with 185/60/R14 tyres.

The rear tyres will still be 175 width. Anyone done this, is it still ok?

Tyre circumference is only 0.5% different, I'm more concerned about having ever so slightly wider tyres on the front than the back.

Cheers

wider tyres should always be at the back to reduce the car tramlining/being dragged around.

Would'nt normaly agree with that - tramlining only an issue on excessivly wide tyres and/or worn suspension/hub components. 185 is not OTT in this case and little different from the 175's already fitted.

Like nearly all FWD cars, Bravo/a's are nose-heavy balance, so having slightly wider tyres on the front would make more sense, assuming the tyres were at least as good quality/condition as the 175 rears and the tread depth adaquate.

I run my lightly-laden FWD Daihatsu on 165/60 fronts and 155/65 rears with no problems - as long as both sides of the same 'axle' have the same tyre size, (and pref. pattern) fitted, then no worries.
