I worked these out the other day for my own interest to see how tyre profiles compare. Ive only done tyres that will fit a cento based on sizes upto 15". Also you have to remember, the smaller the overall diameter, the better the acceleration.

thought they might be of use to some of you :)

13" wheel = 33.01cm

165/55 (sporting standard tyre) = Wall height of 9.07cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 165/55 = 51.16cm

175/50 tyre = Wall height of 8.75cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 175/50 = 50.52cm

195/45 tyre (super wide) = Wall height of 8.77cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 175/50 = 50.56cm

14" wheel = 35.56cm

175/50 (standard sei abarth tyre) = Wall height of 8.75cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 175/50 = 53.06cm

185/50 = Wall height of 9.25cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 185/50 = 54.06cm

195/45 = Wall height of 8.77cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 195/45 = 53.10cm

195/40 (super low profile) = Wall height of 7.80cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 195/40 = 51.16cm
195/40 tyres on a 14" wheel make the overall diameter of the wheel the same as the standard sporting wheels.

15" wheel = 38.1cm

195/45 = Wall height of 8.77cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 195/45 = 55.64cm

I've been playing about with gearboxes and differentials theoretically so have also had a look at what tyres and have this to add:

15" wheel = 38.1cm

165/50 (Toyo Proxes R888 & Nankang NS-2) = Wall height of 8.25cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 165/50 = 54.6cm

165/560 (racing wet, effectively: 165/55) = Wall height of 9.5cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 165/560 = 56cm

170/550 (common slick profile, effectively:165/55 ) = Wall height of 8.45cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 170/550 = 55cm

175/50 = Wall height of 8.75cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 175/50 = 55.6cm

185/45 = Wall height of 8.35cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 185/45 = 54.8cm

16" wheel = 40.6cm

175/45 (driveable w/out moding on stock Sei suspension!) = Wall height of 7.88cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 175/45 = 56.4cm

195/40 = Wall height of 7.80cm
- Over all wheel diameter running 195/40 = 56.2cm

Iam wondering who's making this measure of tyres?? I can't find them.. And Ive got already on car some "NANKACH" taiwan or something

standard profile is very rare to find, cant recall the make .possibly pirrelis but why so many change to a more common profile

165/55s? You should be able to get hold of them fairly easily. There are only 3 suppliers IIRC - Nankang, Pirelli (which Fiat fitted from new) and I think Goodyear did them as well, but not sure if they produce them now. The Nanknags are half the price of both the Pirellis and the Goodyears.

Profiles that match near enough are (added in a sidewall deformation factor) 165/55 (8.62cm/51.2cm) are 155/60 (8.84cm/51.6cm), 185/50 (8.79cm/51.5cm) & 205/45 (8.76cm/51.5cm). I think you'll find none of the alternatives are actually in production :(

Are these not the p700 Pirellis? Others will suggest different brands, but Kwik Fit have a 3 for the price of 4 offer on pirelli at the moment.

Liverpool Tyres always seem to have very good part worns in P700 165/55/14 -- they're stock fitment on the mpi sei too.

3 for the price of 4? rip off! :p

Since when?
Er....2002? Certainly my Sei MPI S came with them out of the factory (now, mine was an ex Hertz car and it's just possible that the tyres were trashed in 10,000 miles, but I doubt it. Hell I took em off and they're out in the yard, will take a look...... yep, 165/55/13 P700.:)

Oh pooh, I just saw I typed 14 instead of 13!
