Tyre Pressure on 17s

I've just put some 17s on my HGT and it looks great (205/40)
No they don't rub

One thing though, Whats the ideal pressure?

I personally run mine very high - 40lbs
this is because I spoke to a mechanic who worked on tuned Italian racing cars from Italy - and he said that tyre pressures should be run high on 17s. This is partly to do with protecting the wheel in potholes etc.....

The ride isn't much different, still hard as rock especially after lowering...
