re: tyers on a 13" punto help

Ultimatley, pay more money for better tyres, you want good wet grip as well as good dry grip. Contact patch of each tyre is only about the size of a credit card and the grip helps you stop. £20 saving on tyre can be the difference in stopping or going into back of the car infront in the wet (insurance costs of £500 excess). Tyres are ultimatley the only thing that keep your car attached to the road, so going fast round a corner with poor grip tyres can result in you spinning off in damp conditions.

If you look on the side of your tyre, it will tell the the measurements you need. e.g. 175/55 R 13

Weather will get worse over the next few months as well. I think 1.6mm tread is an extra 80% stopping distance in the wet or something stupid like that. And sometimes up to an extra 60% in the dry - http://www.etyres.co.uk/tread-depths-distance

Go to a breakers and get a set of 14s or 15s with part used tyres. Some are so part used they are 95% new. I got a set of alloys with P700 tyres for my old Seicento for £100. Similar sets for a Punto were not much more but wouldnt fit the Sei.

I went to these folks who were very helpful and even took my old steels & crap tyres, The Pirellis they fitted for me were virtually new and transformed the car.

Hi, I work as the website designer for this company, the address you have posted here is incorrect. For some reason someone has put the wrong address in Google Maps/Places and we are trying to get it removed.

The actual address is:
M.A.S Autos Limited,
Wincham Industrial Estate,
Wincham Lane,
Wincham,
Northwich,
Cheshire,
CW9 6DE

The email should also be [email protected].

We have also just launched a new website for anyone who is interested in looking for car parts at masautos.co.uk.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Peter
