Righty, been getting sucky economy out of my 1242 Sie recently. I took it in for its free fuel tank recall where the garage did nothing they say except check for signs of corrosion, it got the all clear etc. Since then i have only been getting 200miles to a tank with careful driving. The fuel injector light keeps popping up and the car lurches violently as it does so. Now i am taking it to a garage sometime to get the ECU read to see what fault code it is returning. Any ideas what it might be? I am thinking maybe lamda sensor problem. Prob with that is i'll need a new downpipe too as my sensor is welded into my downpipe. I didn't do it, was like that when i got the car.
Next problem, i just replaced my front disks and pads and they need running in so i took it out for a light drive. I stopped to check how hot the disks were, just out of curiosity and also cos i was bored checked the drums. The offside one was cooking! Having read the stickys i decided its the age old problem of a sticking cento handbrake. Prolly also wasn't helping the fuel economy. Thats easily fixable, what i am concerned about is the wheel bearing. How do i know if this is in need of repair?
I wanna try and get at least the brakes sorted before i make the journey to See-Red next weekend. Cos that will bugger the bearing up if its not already dead.
