Hello!

First off I don't know much(anything) about electrics...

On my Car I always have tu manually switch the radio on/off.

& it works even with the ignition off.

I'd like to change that whenever I switch the ignition on - that the radio comes on aswell & that it's not possible to swich it on if the ignition is not on.

This is how it used to be with my other cars...

Any help is greatly appreciated

Letting us know what car you have, and if it is the standard head unit would be a good start to us knowing how to deal with your problem.

On brava/o/marea there is an exp button (expert) which gets you into the settings. From here you can choose many things including if it switches on with ignition.

Sorry.

It's for a Fiat Seicento.

It's a Sony MP3 Head Unit... Forgot the Model name.

doesnt matter, all you need to do is change the constant live to an ignition live.IIRC it will be the yellow wire on the HU wiring loom, just connect an ignition live and disconnect the constant live.
you still need a constant live on the head units memory

Having the model number would be useful but here is instructions for a generic head unit.

On the rear there will be a red and yellow wire. Yellow is memory and red is trigger (or the other way around)

Both will be connected to positive in your situation.

You need to split them and wire one to an ignition switched positive, and leave the other to the 12v. If it loses its stations and settings when you turn off the ignition swap over the red and yellow wires.

Don't forget to wire in suitable amp inline fuses.
