hi everyone,
i have a question about the boost pressure on the cinq turbo, you see it still runs with no intercooler at the moment but you may all remember i recently fitted the decompression plate with the new engine taking the c/r down to 8.5/1, and i wanted to now what kind of pressure i could run safely, the reason is this,,,,i have the greddy profec B spec 2 boost controller fitted and it controlles boost gains by % over the 0.35bar that vanaaken set it to, since the engine compression was lowered i had to raise the pressure slightly because the engine was pritty gutless at low boost on the decomplate so its been set to 20% over standard (0.42bar) which brought the power and torque up nicly and safly at the RR with no probs at all, but a certain person thought the nice shiny bottons on the boost controller where fun to turn so with out me nowing the boost was turned up to 28% (about 0.45bar) and i could feel the car was more poky,,,and made me smile more than usual, it was only earlyer a noticed the gain on the controller was raized so i turned it back down.
its left me wanting to no what can i run at the most at the moment????
one of the boost gauges actually reads a touch about 0.55bar, and the psi gauge reads around 7ish.
other than thats guys the car is suprisingly well, its been starting up perfect and the plugs aernt sutting up anymore, no gerkyness or stuuttering, just a bad idle which i have now ordered a wiring loom for so hope and pray that will cure it, its off for the MOT tomorow and its been treated to 4 new toyo tyres, 2 new wheel bearings, new front bottom arm bushes and its taking a trip to the body shop soon to put the bumper and wing right
i plan to have the cooler fitted pritty soon but the plans for an aftermarket ecu, knock sensor and wideband lambda will have to wait a while yet till the huge list of "things to do on the cinq" is smaller.
cheers
jason
