Technical Turbo problems

Hi all, i have turbo problems. i think its the oil seals gone (smokes under boost) ive checked the plugs and there not oiled up and the compressions is 100 psi on all cylinders.

can you manage to remove its without taking the engine out and is there any hybrid turbos avaialble? mk1 1.3

100psi is too low, did you have the throttle wide open during the test?

Yes you can remove the turbo without taking the engine out. Remove the manifold and turbo in one go though.

hi, no that was just with engine turning over. what should the reading be?

You need to test it with the throttle open and without fuel injected (disconnect the crank sensor is easiest.

150psi or higher is good. 140-150 is ok. 120-140 is poor. Under 120 is worn out.
