The tipo died on me this morning. Had trouble starting, it just wouldn't run. I started and started until the battery was almost dead. I jumpstarted an old peugot 106 which is standing in the corner of my garden and used that to get some power to the tipo. Finally it started, thanks to the french connection
. Motor was happily running and i drove of...
..At the end of the street braking to turn around the corner at the junction, the engine started to cough and little response on the throttle, it held back like it was out of fuel and died
. Starting again, it didn't. So called my girl to tow me back down the street and drive me to work. I'll have a look tonight, probably a loose connection somewhere, and worst case the head gasket is gone. I'll try to have it running again tonight and will be back to post results later. The car had been standing still for two day's so i hope i am lucky and it's just a loose wire.
