The tipo died on me this morning. Had trouble starting, it just wouldn't run. I started and started until the battery was almost dead. I jumpstarted an old peugot 106 which is standing in the corner of my garden and used that to get some power to the tipo. Finally it started, thanks to the french connection :D. Motor was happily running and i drove of...(y)..At the end of the street braking to turn around the corner at the junction, the engine started to cough and little response on the throttle, it held back like it was out of fuel and died :(:(. Starting again, it didn't. So called my girl to tow me back down the street and drive me to work. I'll have a look tonight, probably a loose connection somewhere, and worst case the head gasket is gone. I'll try to have it running again tonight and will be back to post results later. The car had been standing still for two day's so i hope i am lucky and it's just a loose wire.

It still is dead, i checked ignition, it's all still fixex in position and sparks as well. Changed out the two relais fixed to the firewall, they control fuel pump, ignition power, injector power and more essential parts. Pulled the sparkplugs, still in good shape, rechecked the wiring which i had to solder after pulling out the anty theft thingy. Pump is running, probably should check two things 1. Is the fuel pump actually pumping fuel, 2. is the fuel pressure regulator still working, hence is there fuel running to the injectors. If 1. is the fault the pump might be defect or the fuel filter is clogged, can a filter be clogged so sudden ? Nmbr 2 should be easy, i can change it out from tipo nr 2. Last but not least the ecu might have died, i can't imagine that so will check that as the latest possibility. Any suggestions ?

Well it ain't the ecu, tried the one from tipo no 2 and no result. To bad i have too little time this week and the weather is so bad, easyest way probably is changing out parts with no2 one at the time and trying to start the car. Tipo 2 has no MOT and was bought intentionally as a donor vehicle.
