I know I should really post this on a Powerstrip or at least some kind of PC based forum, but I need some advice pretty quick, and I know how busy this forum can be compared to others!
I use Powerstrip on a PC through to a CRT widescreen telly in my room, (for giving me a screen res that suits 16:9 ratio in case people aren't familiar with Powerstrip) The screen is pretty unclear, but it's usable!
I've just installed a game that was recommeneded to me, (Battlefield 1942) however it didn't like the res I had it set to, so I right clicked Powerstrip in the task bar and selected another mode. This immediately made Battlefield spring into life (only on the menus, it still didn't like the res when I tried starting a game) but when I returned to windows, the screen is almost completely black with garbled junk at the top.
Every time I restart windows it works for a moment until Powerstrip has had time to start, then it does the inevitable and screws up the screen again.
What I need to know is, is there any way of disabling windows startup items? by, say, holding a certain key or anything? Or is there a shortcut I can push to switch modes in Powerstrip? I need something I can push without being able to see the screen!
I hope that makes sense! Hope someone can advise!
