General Top Gears 50 CRAP cars !

Anything Top Gear doesn't like, I do. I don't get why leaf's are still an issue. Many cars and vans produce them. 'cept, in Marbella's and MK1 Panda's it's more obvious..

leafs are good for carrying heavy loads, they spread the weight out more than coil springs, it's why many vans/pickups/large 4x4s have them, but they aren't ideal for road cars as they contribute a great deal of weight, and often are used in non-independent suspension.

though the corvette uses leaf springs, transverse plastic ones or something though.

hmmmmmm if not kia pride (it wouldn't of been a terrible car in the 80s, but for something made in late 90s it was apalling!)

hmmmmmmm, kdf wagen isn't crap as such, hmmmmmm, marina would seem the likely target being set out to be as cheap and unoriginal as possible yet eventually costing more to develop than the "advanced" allegro.

probably something british....

MGTF?

i don't. i'd rather be seen dead than own a rip off of a 30s czech car, which was produced/sold under the "Strength Through Joy" scheme of nazi Germany.

they overheat on the hint of a warm day, slow, interior isn't very good, the seats terrible, noisey smelly engines.... i could go on, an excellent choice for a crap car, but possibly not the crappest!

Oh no's! :( They are kind of right though about the marbella being the bits fiat didnt want lol. But I still like them, and mk1's too. But mk2's are better cars to be fair. I'm just enjoying the challenge of making one perform well  and also the originality of my fleet. :slayer: I am a fan of the push rod engine too, being brought up on mini's its all I've known till now! They rev so well and I sware that little 903 would rev to 6 grand as happy as a panda eating bamboo.

200 mph might be a tall order though :p

Si

You dont like em then ? :D:D

...but i can understand the cult following they have.

At the end of the day, people like what they like. Top Gear seem to spend an awful lot of time telling people what they should and shouldn't like.

Try telling the Morris Marina OC that their car is a pile of rubbish and yes, I can understand why they might be upset or offended.

Yes its all down to personal taste & choice, and we all know that Top Gear like to stir the big spoon now and again.. after all im sure that like me you know that most peeps just cant understand why we like the Fiat Panda :) All good fun hey

I love what Pandamonius Maximus is doing with his but I was never really a fan of the Marbella. With absolutely minimal changes they seemed to totally wreck the Pandas charm. Attempting to graft on a Mk3 escort nose was clearly missing the point of boxiness.
well, basicaly, defferences are very subtle, I like more bigger turn indicators but essentialy it is the same. so you are not right. the only thing that is crap is panda mk1's back lights so small and narrow and that is matter of aesthetics, not taste.
about top gear's crap cars, I think they should put panda there then as well because fiat didn't improve car's ride with independent suspension and more modern fire engines (which are today ancient as well) are not more refined - the point is that you gonna be deff on 80 km (50mph) in both panda and marbella like you drive 100 mph in normal modern family car
and one more thing - driving position of both cars is absolutely horrible for everyone but italian/spanish standard dwarf sized people

and yes, I think that the worst car should come from my country - it is zastava yugo - the car based on fiat 127 but worse and unreliable more than any unreliable fiat
