Oh maybe it's one of those then, it was dark, next time I walk past i will look at the back :) Still, given the type of hall he's likely to be no older than me!

Cheers Evo, not a lot between them, well within the error that Stig could have created.

I hate the Type R, it's such a common car driven by boy racers (NB: personal viewpoint unsubstantiated!) I prefer to be a little different. The Leon is that, the Megane is that and so is the C4. The golf would get you recognised as being a certain type of person again (although not a boyracer this time).

All personal viewpoints of course.

One other consideration of these cars times (all very close) are taken round a test track with a professional driver & having read a good few reports in mags etc about these cars I think in the real world the Civic is actually slower than the others mentioned as it is severely down on torque to the rest & therefore can be found wanting if you are in the wrong gear i.e. not screaming round a track in the correct gear all the time. So in real terms like overtaking it would be hard pressed to keep up as you would inevitably have to come down a gear or town to get in the power band whereas the others with a bigger spread of torque are able to accelerate in higher gears. It is no doubt a talented car, but as with all VTEC's out the power band they can feel slow. I've not been in a Civic, but a mate of mine up in Scotland has an Integra Type R (proper UK model) which has an even more mental engine (red line at 9700rpm) & its very light weight & with so little sound proofing you can here the gears churning, but it is like this, on song it really flys (like close on 150mph flys), but bellow 6000rpm its gutless! :D

Top Gear................................

they showed the new Golf GTI and other Hot Hatches that are in that segment competing against it, the Stilo NEVER features, that really bugs me!

I was going to say exactly that. :)

I drove the Civic Type-R shortly after it was released and, while it's an absolute hoot to drive, you've got to be driving it like you've stolen it to get the best from it.

While it's fun to be screaming the nuts off it in every gear, in reality you just can't drive like that. I used to have a Pug 306 XSi 2.0 - Me and a couple of friends think the Pug was easily as quick as the Civic "off v-tec"...

I wouldn't say no to a CTR though - Definitely not!

Same goes for the Golf; its very fast for such a heavy motor, and no doubt it's built like a tank, but it's a favourite amongst muppets in cheap suits who are only happy when they've got someones tailgate an inch from their bumper on the motorway.
bit harsh... i would love a mk4 golf 1.8t!!!

set of 18's nicly dropped, nice exhaust, and a beast of a list of engine mods to get stupid power out of it

dream car by miles!!!!

Boll-cks I missed it - must watch the repeat about 12am tonight I think.

I beleive that The Stig is a guy called Nicholas Minassian, as he was spotted at the "Ring" when they were filming for the episode with the Jag a few weeks ago.

Or it could be a guy called Ben Collins, but of course they may be sharing the drives!

Perry McCarthy (a failed F1 driver from the 80's) was the original Stig, but they "killed" him off after his identity was revealed.

Aaron.
