I have to say this Porsche challenge is one of the funniest I have ever seen! HAhaha!

haha! The metal just dropped off!

Can I check, where did the Megane 225 come in the track test?

Cheers :) Well I know which I would have anyway :p

JB: they just put the golf up against them at the end of the Golf test. I missed it by blinking.

I think the times were, Civic 132.8, Leon 133.2, Golf 133.8 Megane 134.0 C4 134something. Thats all just form memory, someone may have taped it and be able to pause & get correct times.

Cheers Evo, not a lot between them, well within the error that Stig could have created.

I hate the Type R, it's such a common car driven by boy racers (NB: personal viewpoint unsubstantiated!) I prefer to be a little different. The Leon is that, the Megane is that and so is the C4. The golf would get you recognised as being a certain type of person again (although not a boyracer this time).

All personal viewpoints of course.

I agree with Paul here, the Type R is a ricer's dream and I hate the image it conveys. It's a decent car, but too many tossers buy them. Same goes for the Golf; its very fast for such a heavy motor, and no doubt it's built like a tank, but it's a favourite amongst muppets in cheap suits who are only happy when they've got someones tailgate an inch from their bumper on the motorway.

I quite like the C4, it's weird but in a cool way. I think the Megane is just ugly, and the Leon is nice enough but looks a bit dated now.

I like these type of cars, true that the Type R is too common now. Maybe people behind the wheels of them are boyracers, but at least they can actually out-do alot of other cars on the road, not your usual chav in a Corsa 'Beating a Subaru' lol. Its a shame the insurance is too high on them for me

I think the Megane lost a few seconds due to poorer handling than the rest and it's probably a bit heavier.

I'm sure the Alfa 147 GTA could sort them out!

Is it cost comparable though? (I don't have a clue, that's not the leading question it sounds)

WR, it worries me more than somebody young can drive the type R and beat a lot of other cars, that's a lot of power to handle if you're a "boyracer".

Daddy will see any youngster OK with whatever car they please if they have the money, even on someone elses insurance it's possible.

Folk round my way have group 15+ cars and some are younger than me, I'm 24.

WR, I didn't really explain myself, it's just that a lot of the type R drivers I see in Manc are your "normal" boyracer types - and often less than 24 AFAIK.

One guy owns one at the halls next door - don't know how old he is or if it is genuine but it looks it.
