Hi all!
My name is Rich and I am a newb on these boards and found it by researching a potential Punto purchase.
Basically, my wife wants a Punto. It has to be a 5 door and we are going to look at a couple tomorrow - both at garages.
The 1st one is a 2001 51 reg, 1.2ELX with aircon, abs etc and 56k on the clock. Dunno how many owners or service history. Price is £1995
The second one is a base model naturally aspirated diesel, again 2001 51reg with 70k on the clock, 1st owner was fiat and 1 owner since that. Price is £1550 with FSH and looks immaculate in the pictures (but don't they all?).
My thinking is the diesel will be a stronger engine. There doesn't appear to be anything in it as far as fuel consumption is concerned (but obv diesel costs more to buy!!)
What are the cambelt intervals (does the diesel have a belt or chain??)
What are your thoughts? Is there anything specific i should look out for??
Sorry for the questions! I have searched but can't find out much about the n/a diesel.
