Hi!
Anyone have any tips or know how to remove surface scrathes from my Punto. My car's always parked on the driveway and everytime I wake up in the morning I seem to find a new scratch or dent on the body. The thing is one side of the car is parked right against the driveway wall and that side seems to be dent/scratch free. You'd have to be super slim to get in between the car and the wall.
Anyway I've been recomended T-Cut by someone but another person said when they used T-Cut it damaged their body by making more scratches where the product was used. I don't know whether he bought the right one or not, but that's his problem, hehe! Anyone have any recommendations on what to do and what exact products to use.

Thanks in advance for the replies and the advice given!
Cheers.

I've used T cut a few times and it does the job on light scraches with no problem. However, for scraches that have gone down to the undercoat or metalwork you may need expert advice. Just make sure when you go to Halfords or where ever you get some advice on which T cut to buy (I think there is a different one for met paint job). Good luck

hey mate, i suggest using autoglym's polish (red bottle) and then their super resin wax afterwards (its called somethin like that). i use this on my car and its the b*llocks when done right.

FIAT!!! It Doesn't Move But It Looks Good!!

Autoglym Super Resin Polish :D

It's good stuff for removing light marks; Autoglym Paintwork Restorer is good for deeper ones.

For little scratches and chips you can buy the chip sticks available in loads of colours and I would recommend Auto glym also as its seems to do the job for surface scratches

Whatever you do, Chris, DON'T buy Halfords paint touch-up kits. I bought one that claimed to be "Fiat Bright Red Metallic" to touch up a few scratches and chips on my bright metallic red Punto - it's nowhere near being a colour match [:(!]
So I'm now going to have to get the proper paint from Fiat and do it properly...f***ing b*****d Hellfrauds

LOL! Exactly the same thing happened to me mate. Went to Halfords to get a FIAT Bright Red touch-up paint kit, went home to test it on the car, and it was way way off! Problem is there ain't a sticker in the boot saying the paint code for mine so another trip to the FIAT garage for me.

Punto Powa, my car's paint code is "Fiat Rosso Bright"...translate that into English, you get Fiat Bright Red!!

Wonder if I can get a refund and make Halfords pay for the proper paint? :D

if you are goin to use T-cut that has a strong compound, then just spray a little tiny bit of water on the surface were the scratch is and you wont scratch it,I used to be a valeter and used G3,it was mint for gettin scratches out,but u defo need to use water with that stuff,it has chunks of sand in it!!

G3 is like T-cut but stronger. It's nasty stuff use too much and you'll have all the paint off! You can probably get it at Halfords I bought some at a local garage, found it on Google here:

My scratches seem too deep for me to use G3 and T-Cut. Does anyone know where I can buy the touch-up pens from cheap. I've tried the Halfords stuff and the colour was way off even though the label stated the correct colour.
Was so... pee'd off with this, cos' the cashier wouldn't accept a refund, but it paid off when I had a heated argument with the manager.

If G3 and a good machine polish wont get your scratches out then nothing will, forget the touch up pen, they always turn out to be crap, jus save up and get the panel resprayed, mite cost more, but it wnt look bodgy!
