Hi

I have been looking at my uncles tipo because it won't start. Started 4 weeks ago but won't start now. I have tested for spark by holding a plug on engine whilst cracking (not the safest way I know) Today changed rotor arm, dizzy cap and plugs, never changed ht leads as they all test out to a few ohms with ohm meter. I have 12vdc on all four terminals of the ignition coil and I have tested primary coils and they measure a few ohms so I think they are alright have not tested secondary was bit unsure how to do it. Has anyone any ideas also has anyone got wiring diagram.

Thanks

Carl

Have you tested for Fuel? Try squirting some brake cleaner down the throttle body. If it tries to start, you have a fuel problem.

HI

I got it to start today found condensation in fuse box and in wiring by ecu. Used half a can of wd40 on every cable it engine and it decided to go. Problem now is exhaust is blowing and have been quoted £175.00 for new backbox and middle box it's all one piece.

Exhaust systems for most makes and models with dual boxes can be purchased separately, but as I've found over the years, they both give up within a short period, so replacing both at the same time cuts down on workshop time and or cost in the long run.

I have fiat tipo 1.6 sx ('93). I have a problem with ignition. When a temperature is low it starts without a problem, but when engine is warm I have a problem with starting it, it starts after a few ignition. I changed sensor near the v belt, but it I still have the same problem. I know it must be electrical problem. Is it possible that it is a sensor of camshaft? Or is it a problem with electrical wires? Please help...
