TinyXP + Messenger

Right decided to give TinyXP a go. So have formatted and installed and now MSN Messenger can't sign in.

It just says
"service unavailable
Error code 8100030d"

Is it something stupid I'm missing or what?

install messenger 7.5, and run it in win2k compatbility mode instead. i assume you're trying for minimal resource use if you've put tinyxp on.

Didn't work.

Pretty crappy old PC so though cut back windows woud be good for it. It has made a big difference in performance but it's got a few issues I'm slowly trying to work around.

I'm really quite stuck without messenger now. Didn't realise how often I uswed it till it stopped working.

what happened when you tried to use 7.5 and compatibility mode? Its exactly how i use it on my XP laptop and it works fine

It starts to sign in then just stops. Doesn't even tell me it's failed.

I use it all the while, don't bother with micro$oft messenger now

Hmm that no work either. Must be a connection setting or something.

God damn mobile broadband. Never had this with cable.

Nah just switched it off and it still won't work. Even tried Windows Messenger 5.1 and it's a no go aswell.

i used to use TinyXP and it was fine with MSN, however, it was quite an old release.

i cant see anything on google so it doesnt look like a common issue, it must be something with your network setup.

possibly incorrect default gateway?

if your desperate sign in to eMessenger or try using trillian to connect to the msn network
