Was speaking to someone at R.TEC in st albans today who told me not to get my lights completly blacked out as he got stopped countless times for it...he said to tint them using spray but to do it well.
was wondering if anyone new if it was illegal to completely black out, how easy is it, what do you do, how much? or should i just tint?

cheers maxim

I had it done on my brava, and my friend has it on his current car, and neither ever get stopped

that looks f**king sexy!! how he do it? an particualr spray?
it is going to be done!!

So do they still shine through the tint, or will he be buying new rear lights when it fails its first MOT next year ?

he bought led lights but they didnt work so he has standard bulbs that work fine, but his plan is to buy spare lighhts i believe when the mot is due, its under three years old so he hasnt had an MOT yet

Put some black tights over the lights. Cheap to do and if you still like it, paint them, or just leave it with tights on or if you hate it remove them and no damage caused to the lights.

Tights??? Would they not rip, or go saggy when it rains, or collect loads of dirt? That's crazy talk :)

Nope, they may rip if you drive backwards through bushes though. LOL. Also i've never seen them sag or go wierd when wet same applies when on the car. ;)

yer it is true about the tights. if ur not sure how they will come out. take them out n put tights on the lights? cheap and harmful way of checking beforehand!
