Hi all,

I am going to change the timing belt on the wife's Brava soon, apart from needing the belts etc, any special tools needed before I start.

Cheers

main problem i've found with bravos is that none of them have any timing marks anywhere. i dont know why fiat did that but its daft, still as long as you're only changing a belt it wont matter as long as you lock both pulleys before you remove the old belt. if you just slip the belt off and then wonder if anything moved its already too late, so please dont dive in. its always worth while using a blob or two of white paint to mark where things are before you touch the belt, that way if anything moves you will be able to correct it. and when i say mark with paint i mean one blob on the pulley and one blob on the engine so that you can line the two marks up.

Thanks for the replies, changed a timing belt before on a Nissan Bluebird so I know what I,m getting into. I just wondered if there was anything out of the ordinary that I might have encountered..

But something else has came up so I have stared another thread.........
