I have just bought a UK 56 plate 1.9 Sedici (ie about 7 years old) with 45000 miles. On a mileage basis it shouldn't need a new belt but I uderstand that age should also be considered. Would welcome any advice. Sorry if this message repeats itself but I don't think an earlier posting worked!

Hi I agree on the age of belt it needs changing ASAP. I bought my 07 Sedici in March and the garage said it had had a belt change but no record was in the service book so I change it anyway. You do need to do the WATER PUMP as well as these sometimes bugger up causing the belt to snap and wreck the engine. Not a hard job to do if your OK with the spanners.

Thanks - anyone idea what I should expect to pay at a local garage in the UK for the belt replacement?

Regards

Simon

Hi Euro Car Care 01332 345869 in Derby are Alfa/Fiat etc specialists and charged a mate of mine £250 for a belt/pulleys/water pump on a Vauxhall Combi Van with the same engine fitted. And they let him have a car for the day at no cost when they did it but you need to let them know if you need one.

Also just bought a sedici 1.9 multijet 2007 reg 33k, so you'd reccomend belt to be changed?

What mileage interval would you normally change it at? Mite do it myself, it looks easy

My last cost one about £400 (6 years ago) & this one will cost about the same 😀
