I need to get a new timing belt fitted on my 1.9 JTD Marea weekend. How much should I expect to pay to get the kit and how much to fit it?

Many Thanks

ALWAYS get tensioners. They're usually what fail and take your cam belt, and then valves with them. For the sake of a few quid you're looking at hundreds i.e. over £1200 of engine rebuild. Don't be an idiot - get the whole job done. Probably worth getting the water pump changed too or it's likely to fail requiring the cam belt job to be done all over again.

FAST of Stockton-upon-Tees do cambelt and water pump and tensioners for £245.

First thing i did when i bought my JTD was get belt and tensioner done for about £200. Garage at first didnt change the tensioner, just the belt, dispite explicit instructions to do so (said fiat claim no need:confused: ). They had to take it back in and just charged me for the tensioner.

Had a tensioner go on my old bravo 1.4, 1 day before it was to be traded in because i replaced only the belt. Lost about £700 as sold it to a garage for £300. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

As above get it done, dont be cheap.
